Who We Are

Rivercourt Hall Booking, 10 Thames Road, Barking, London, IG11 0HZ ("we", "us", "our") operates this website and the hall hire booking service.
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use rivercourtbooking.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
We process personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Contact details you give us — name, email address, and phone number — when you submit an enquiry, contact form, or create an admin account.
Event details you provide — hall preference, event date, event type, guest count, and any message or requirements.
Booking and payment records — reservation status, amounts due/paid, and payment reference numbers. We do not collect or store your card details directly; payments are handled by Stripe.
Basic technical information — such as browser type and pages visited, used only to keep the site working correctly.

To respond to your enquiry and discuss your event, availability, and pricing.
To process and manage your booking, including sending confirmations, payment links, and reminders.
To communicate with you about your booking or an event you've enquired about.
To maintain accurate booking and financial records, as required for accounting and legal purposes.
To improve our website and service. We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling.

We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this booking system, each acting as a data processor on our behalf: Supabase (secure database hosting), Stripe (payment processing), and Resend (transactional email delivery).
These providers only receive the data needed to perform their function and are contractually bound to protect it.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.
We may disclose information where required by law, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Enquiry and booking records are retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes described above, and afterwards for legitimate business, accounting, or legal reasons.
Financial records relating to payments are typically retained for at least 6 years, in line with UK tax and accounting requirements.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner — see "Your Rights" below — and we'll do so unless we're required to keep it.

We use industry-standard measures to protect personal data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access-controlled databases, and restricted admin access.
No method of storage or transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information.

We use essential cookies needed for the site and admin dashboard to function correctly, such as keeping an admin logged in securely.
We do not currently use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to: access the personal data we hold about you; ask us to correct inaccurate data; ask us to delete your data; restrict or object to certain processing; and request a copy of your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email bookings@rivercourtchurch.org. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.

This website is not directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect personal data from children browsing the site directly.
Where an event booking involves minors (e.g. a christening or graduation), the adult making the booking is responsible for providing any necessary details.

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. Updates will be posted on this page with a revised date.
